Rebecca earned her Bachelors in Music Education with a double major in Vocal Performance at Illinois State University. She enjoys teaching music at the elementary and junior high grade levels. Through her college experience she developed a love for opera and has developed a teaching unit to entice her students to share her enthusiasm for opera. Another musical joy for Rebecca has been leading worship teams for 6 years in local community churches. Currently she is leading a contemporary service with a very talented team of musicians, some of whom are featured on the “Better” album.

Rebecca’s composing journey started with a 3rd grade boy that approached her at the end of her student teaching. He came up to her on the last day and said “So what are you going to do now?” She replied “Teach music!” He said “No, you are going to be a singer!” and simply walked away not even giving her a chance to reply. It was that day that Rebecca started composing her first song “You’re Going to Be a Singer”, that song is in the vault and will stay there. Since then Rebecca has been inspired to continue writing and is finally sharing some of the music that was inspired by her life experiences.
